First off, no one that you minister to is put in front of you by accident. God has been preparing their heart for the right time when you come along. That doesn't mean that you are going to bring them a huge revelation in like a minute of talking to them. It just means that you've been put in their path, and they in yours, by God's grand design.
Much like the burning bush, we are to deliver the Word of God to those that are kind of lost or just not moving anywhere with God. Sometimes it is our "chance" meeting that sparks their fire for doing God's will. It is our job to help be fuel for that fire. Show them love, encourage them to seek God's will for their life, pray for them, and with them if they request it.
Do not give God any excuses as to why He cannot use you. Moses was a stutterer yet got 1 million Jews out of Egypt. David was an illegitimate child, smaller than his brothers and a shepard but killed a giant, ruled Israel 40 years and wrote most of the Psalms. Paul was a murderer of Christians AND next in line to take the spot of the guy that handed Jesus over to Pilate, yet he wrote 2/3 of the new testament. These three people are some cornerstones of our faith. With those people accomplishing amazing thing through the blessing of God, do not tell me that God cannot use you in whatever situation that you are in. 1 Corinthians 1:27: "27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;" I think that we are completely out of excuses at this point.
"But I do not know what to say!" This is an excuse that alot of people use to give a reason why they dont want to try and reach people. Hmmm....I never remember a human ever being able to do squat without God in the first place. Lets look at Scripture to see what happens. "4...God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” Why is that important? The bush didnt call Moses. The bush is an object that The Lord used to reach Moses. Lets take it a step further: 1 John 4:4 "...because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." So by that, God is speaking through us and it is not us speaking on our own. Remember, it is through CHRIST who gives us strength that we can do all things.
Do not be afraid to reach out to someone for God. If it is His will that they be reached at that time, you will be given the words to say. Trust in the Lord with all your ways and He will make your path straight.
Grace and Peace be with you all!
