Confuse the Darkness

What kind of world do we live in?  I have seen a lot of different things in my life.  Unfortunately most of them are bad.  There is an exorbitant amount of evil in this world that we live in.  That presents a real problem for us as Christians.  We live in this world that has evil running rampant through the streets.  Demons attend church service because there is no one there to identify them and send them back to hell where they belong.  They attack whoever they want with no consequences from the people that are being attacked.  Why is that?  What can we do?

It was the chance encounter with someone on social media that showed me this truth.  I am not sure where their quote came from but it was about being the light of the world and flipping a switch.  I responded simply with “John 1:5”.  It was at at that moment that it hit me.  John 1:5 says that the light shines in the darkness and that the darkness can no comprehend it.  I never understood that until now.

Jesus said that we are the light of the world.  I can understand that pretty well, but the darkness not comprehending is where I got lost.  Then, I thought about people that I work with.  It confuses them to no end why I spend so much of my time at/with the church.  Not to bring any glory to myself, but I do spend a large amount of time with “church people” and at the building known as the church.  Furthermore, I have turned down repeated invites to various establishments that I have no business being at.  And yet again, this confuses them.  They know that I’m different.  I know that I am different.  The only thing is that they cannot figure out why I am the way that I am.  It’s because ones that are walking in the darkness cannot comprehend the light that they see before them.  It’s foreign.

II Corinthians 4:3 says that if the Gospel is veiled, then it is veiled to those who are perishing.  I personally believe that the reason that they cannot understand why what I do is because they cannot see beyond the veil.  Add that to the darkness, and they do not have a chance of comprehending.

Where’s our part in all this?  Well, simply put, be the light!  If you pull your shirt over your head in a dark room and hold a cell phone up with the display on, you will not immediately be able to recognize the display.  Look at it over and over again and finally you will see what’s on the screen enough where you want that veil removed.  The same goes with people walking in the darkness.  First of all, the darkness is confused and flees once the light is present.  Before long, the veil wearer will want that veil off of their heads to see the light that is in front of them.  It is up to us to be the catalyst for that desire.  Show Christ to all that you meet, and when the time is right (for Him, not you) He will lift the veil and they will finally be face to face with the Truth.

“It is too small a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give you as a light to the Genitles, That you should be my salvation to the ends of the earth.”  Isaiah 49:6

Grace and Peace be with You always!!!!
