Decisions, Decisions

Ever think about how many different choices we make over the course of a standard day? You can't even get out of bed without making one.  From the moment that your brain reboots from sleeping, you start making choices.  They are as simple as what you are going to do with your hands until you actually get out of bed.
The real brain melting aspect is to think about how your choices, large or small, effect other people places and things.  Lets say that you are a married guy and someone sees you hug a woman that is not your wife.  She could be your sister, your mom, anybody but you are not romantically involved with them.  Someone that does not know the relationship could blow the situation way out of proportion and cause you unnecessary trouble.  My point is this:  We as believers and the world's example of Christ have to be VERY CAREFUL what we say, do and the way that we act.  Otherwise, someone could see us do something and get totally the wrong view of Jesus.
The other day, my boss, who is a believer, saw two young, attractive women parked across the street from the place that I work at.  He said to me, "I should let them park over here just so I can watch them walk across the street."  I started to tell him not to tell anyone that he's a Christian.  His choice to behave in that manner would be immeasurably damaging to someone else's testimony if there had been an unbeliever standing there that they were trying to reach.  Not to mention that the unbeliever might get the wrong idea about the conduct that is acceptable of a Christian.  You can think of it like a rock being thrown in water.  There is the initial splash, but then you have the ripples that radiate from the epicenter where the rock hit.  I'm not sure whether or not bullies understand this fully, because they sure don't think about the suicide that may be coming when they call a teenager fat, ugly, or worthless.
Furthermore, can also be very detrimental to ourselves.  Something as small as what music we watch to the music that we listen to or as big as what we say and do to each other.  For Example: "Just my luck that I get on the highway to go to work and traffic's backed up."  That's right, traffic's backed up so there's no chance for you to get into a high speed accident.  "Of course I would have a flat tire!!"  You had better be thanking God that you were able to make it to the side of the road and that you didn't get hurt or hurt anyone else.  THe things that come out of your mouth can make a world of difference.  Proverbs 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue.  If you speak life into things then you will see a DRASTIC change in your environment.  I am telling you this from experience.  I really starts to change when you realize the authority (dominion) over the things in the world and even the world itself.  When you speak life into them, or rebuke the ungodly things, you will see things change.
Finally I want to say that I could go on for hours with different examples of how our choices can alter the world around us.  We can't even participate in our existence with out making choices. However I will say this about every decision that you will make from here on out.  Every one has life on one side and death on the other, and this is what God says about it.

Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

It's a test and you've been given the answer to the test.  If you answer wrong, you'll get to take it again!
Grace and Peace Be with You!
