In Ezekiel Ch. 47, Ezekiel gives an account of water at different levels, each occurring every 1,000 cubits. Ezekiel eventually found himself completely covered from head to toe by the water. This doesn't make much sense unless you make a comparison to Psalm 47:6, "Deep calls unto deep". Ezekiel was being led by the hand from one level to another depth, or "level". You can draw a parallel here to spiritual maturity, or "the Deep things of God".
Think about this for a second. When I first began my walk with Christ, salvation was a pretty cool thing. God saw all the bad things that I did and made it where I didn't have to get the punishment that I deserved because of it. There was this feeling inside me that I had to know more. Please believe that I would have never even dreamed that there was as much in the Bible at that time as I know that there is now. But the point is that when I really got into the Word, there was an urge to get to that next level, learn that new principle, get deeper into what God has to show you. I have been there. I have been to the point that I couldn't get enough of the awesome things that God has set in place. To get to that new deep!
Now, for the sake of expansion, lets look at this concept from the aspect of multiple people, you included of course. You have a group of Christians together at different levels of spiritual maturity and the more mature ones mentoring the less mature. The less mature are drawing from the more mature. Maturity equals a deep. So you have each person in their own deep. My deep calls out to your deep, and your deep calls out to mine. If you are more spiritually mature than me then yours calls out to mine to get me to come deeper, mine calls out to yours to give me the strength to be able to withstand your deep. If you aren't ready to receive something, you dont need to have it yet, TRUST ME! This concept is the basis for the Body of Christ. The body is made up of cells. Each cell works together to multiply and spread as far as the DNA (in case DNA is GOD) will let them. In a cell based church, this kind of thing happens constantly. Someone has their own cell (small group), they pour into their cell group the Word when they meet. Eventually, the cell multiplies and another cell is created. Each tier you go down, there is a different deep calling out and yet another being called. This is how the Body of Christ grows.
So I ask you, What is your deep calling out to? What deep is calling out to yours?
Grace and Peace of God be with you!
